Mathematics

Extends algebraic, geometric, and statistical concepts, preparing learners to choose between Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy at Grade 10 level.

Natural Sciences

Advances learners' scientific knowledge in biology, chemistry, and physics — forming the conceptual bridge to Physical Sciences and Life Sciences in FET.

Social Sciences

Examines complex historical events, globalisation, democratic governance, and environmental geography, preparing learners for History and Geography in FET.

Technology

Culminates in the design, making, and evaluation of products — giving learners critical exposure to engineering graphics, systems, and structures for FET Technical streams.

Grade 9 learners choose their FET subjects

At the end of Grade 9, learners select a subject stream for Grade 10. This choice shapes their academic pathway through Grades 10, 11, and 12 — and ultimately influences their university or career direction. See the FET Phase tab for all available streams.

Choose Your Path — Grade 10 Subject Streams
